A US supplement brand entering Canada needs a review of the Canadian product category and the exact proposed formulation. US labels, claims and facility documents do not establish a Canadian natural health product licence.
Assemble the product facts
Collect medicinal and non-medicinal ingredients, quantities, dosage form, route of administration, proposed dose, intended users, recommended use and risk information. Add current label artwork and the manufacturer's product specifications.
Keep unresolved ingredient or classification questions visible. The application should describe the product the brand intends to sell, with a responsible person able to confirm the information.
Check the Canadian framework
Health Canada's product-licensing information introduces the application materials. Use the current screening and assessment guidance for the submission stages and completeness expectations.
Match any monograph-based attestation to the actual product parameters. If the evidence route or classification is unclear, resolve that question before signing the attestation.
Identify the Canadian supply responsibilities
Product licensing and site licensing address different matters. Canadian businesses manufacturing, packaging, labelling or importing NHPs for sale have site-licensing requirements; review Health Canada's site-licensing guidance for the activities involved.
Record the licence holder, manufacturer, importer and contact responsible for correspondence. Agree who will monitor requests and obtain missing documents.
Keep market entry conditional
Plan label production, Amazon listing evidence and stock movement around the actual regulatory status. A projected launch date should remain a business planning assumption until the required decisions and documents exist. A different brand's NPN is not evidence for the product in your file.
